On November 3 at both our morning services Christ Church Bayston Hill will join with churches throughout the UK to celebrate our adoption into God’s family and consider what we can do to support the thousands of children and families involved in fostering and adoption.
There is a desperate need in the UK to find more adoptive parents and foster carers and to support fostering and adoptive families. This provides the church with a great opportunity to change the lives of some of the most vulnerable children, encourage families, engage with local authorities and be good news to society.
Using interviews, video, activities, prayers and discussion we will be exploring how we can work together for good as a church, consider the need to foster or adopt, support fostering or adoptive families, and influence society.
In the build up to Adoption Sunday we will also be inspiring each other to take part in a sponsored event to raise money for the Home for Good campaign. We are aiming to walk, run or swim as far as possible during the week before Adoption Sunday. We very much hope the collective total of miles covered will cover the distance between Shrewsbury and Cardiff - the home of Care for the Family and Home for Good who have initiated Adoption Sunday. Please watch out for further details.
Please join us on Adoption Sunday at either of our morning services:
9 a.m. the more traditional one
10.30 a.m. the one for all ages (after this service bubbly and cake will be served to celebrate the amazing care given by many to support fostering and adoptive families)
