Christ Church is now in Interregnum, a time when we have no vicar to lead the church. So all responsibilities now rest with the PCC and in particular the Church Wardens (who will be grateful for all appropriate offers of help!)


One of the key questions people ask is 'when will we have a new vicar'. Well, Bishop Mark is keen that we don't waste time and has suggested a timeline which includes publishing an advert on 17 March.


Before that can happen, the PCC have to produce a document known as a Parish Profile - describing the parish, the church and the particular things the congregations believe are the priorities for Christ Church. It needs to demonstrate that Bayston Hill is an attractive place to be a vicar and to bring a family to (if an applicant has one) while being honest about the challenges they may encounter here. Good applicants are likely to ask searching questions of people in Christ Church as well as from others who know us - including for example the Bishop and Archdeacon.


We would like to invite everyone who is part of a congregation at Christ Church to contribute to our Parish Profile, by thinking about the next step in our adventure together. To do this the small group tasked by the PCC to produce the document are asking people to answer these four questions:


  1. Where are we strong; what do we do well?
  2. What do we need to improve or develop?
  3. What new opportunities are presenting to us?
  4. What will hinder or make progress difficult?
