Autumn 2011

This autumn is set to be a key period in the life of Christ Church Bayston Hill. The church leadership will be reflecting together on the feedback obtained from our whole church evaluation process. This will enable us to prayerfully explore how God wants us to develop existing aspects of our church community and the strategic decisions we need to make to help us become the church that God wants us to be. The key issues raised through the evaluation will be addressed through a variety of ways, naturally through the life of our church. This will help us to build strong foundations for the future as we look to put our vision framework into practice.

In September we will advertise the parish Pioneer Minister post, with a view to appointing the successful applicant at the beginning of November. This exciting post will enable us to move away from ‘youth work’ and instead to grow and nurture fresh expressions of church for young people.

During the autumn we will be joined by Helen Clarke an ordinand on a ministry placement with us. Helen will be leading and preaching in our Sunday worship. We look forward to benefitting from Helen’s gifts.

On the morning of October 9th we look forward to meeting Paul Thomas our new Archdeacon, on the morning of November 6th we welcome Philip Swan the Director of World Mission for Lichfield Diocese, on the morning of Sunday 12th December we welcome George Fisher the Director of Parish Mission in Lichfield Diocese.

This term will also be a significant time in the life of our church school, Oakmeadow. In September both Key Stage One and Two will be in the new school building and Christ Church Pre School and Nursery will be moving into the building too.

As we continue on the adventure that God is leading us into, I very much hope that we will continue to pray and work together for the vision that enables Christ Church Bayston Hill to increasingly become a flourishing and growing Christian community for people in this village and beyond.
