Pioneer Minister - growing church for teens and young adults

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Pioneer Minister, Laura Downs.

Laura will have the responsibility of pioneering mission-shaped communities for teens and young adults in Bayston Hill and beyond, by utilising existing ministry as a springboard to radically develop Fresh Expressions of Church.

Laura will move to Bayston Hill at the end of March and be licensed by the Bishop of Shrewsbury shortly after Easter.LauraBen

2012 is set to be a big year for Laura as she is marrying Ben Whitmarsh in September. We are looking forward to welcoming them both to Bayston Hill, getting to know them better and supporting and praying for them in their new life together.

The Pioneer Minister role arises out of our vision to think outside the box and take church to the people. Laura will be given the freedom to pioneer new ways of being church for teens and young adults, and re-imagine the shape of church for today.

We envisage the Fresh Expression communities that are planted multiplying over time with young-adult leaders being trained and nurtured. Ordained young adult church planters will be identified, trained and released to lead new Fresh Expression communities as part of this ministry. This will very much influence the way in which we grow and nurture church for young adults in the Bayston Hill area, and beyond for the Diocese of Lichfield.
