June 2014

Once again we have come to the end of a packed month at Christ Church.  As I prepare for the weeks and months ahead I am reminded of God’s amazing provision for us in serving and reaching people in our community and beyond for him. At Christ Church last month we hosted Churches Together in Shrewsbury and welcomed Worship Songwriter Stuart Townend in a sold out Concert.  It was a brilliant evening of music, scripture and insights.  Elsewhere in Shrewsbury several members of Christ Church joined the young people of Soul Purpose for hard graft over the Bank Holiday weekend.  Every year Soul Purpose reaches out to communities in North Shrewsbury to show God's love with social action projects like litter picking, fun-days and gardening for those in need. This year’s teams did an incredible job again especially over a very wet weekend and God worked in amazing ways. Speak to our young people to find out how He both challenged and blessed everybody who worked or received over a packed three days.

Gift Day 2014

On this year’s Gift Day we have once again been trusting God for his generous provision, and encouraging each other to make our giving response.  If you haven’t made your giving response then please do so.  Thank you for all the generous giving that enables us to join in with all that God is doing.  As well as one off events please continue to pray for and offer your time to support these regular activities this June which in turn will support so many in our community;

Senior Citizens Lunches, weekly work with Oakmeadow Schoolor the many prayer support groups that take place for every ministry.  Please use the Church Diary for further information and prayer.

Our regular Sunday Services continue at 9 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.  I encourage you to continue to worship God at these gatherings of our church community when you are able.
If you would like to offer your giving for a particular activity please speak to any member of the Staff Team or the Church Office.

And Finally...

You may know, I'm playing the part of Pilate in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Theatre Severn later this year. Two charity performances are being held on 16th & 17th September. It's a talented cast and is sure to be another great Wigle production. Tickets now available.

Take care and see you soon.

Giving 2014

On Sunday 18th May we will be holding our annual Gift Day - to encourage each other to give towards the life and mission of our wonderful church community.  Our aim is to partner with God in His amazing generosity.

Our PCC (church council) and myself are asking each of us to prayerfully review our regular giving and to make a one-off gift.  If you don't already give to Christ Church, it would be great if you would consider doing so, it is an important aspect of living the Christian faith.
