Autumn Themes 2011
Sunday Mornings and midweek Home Groups
Following Jesus 24/7
How to be a disciple 7 days a week
During autumn 2011 at our 9 a.m. service (the more traditional one) and 10.30 a.m. service (the one for all ages) we will be exploring the theme ‘Following Jesus 24/7‘ - what it is to be a Christian every minute of every day. Through sermons and home groups we will look together at the difference our Christian faith can make on the bus, at the gym, over a family meal, in the office or at the school gate. As a church community we are committed to resourcing Christian living at work, at home and in our leisure time. We recognise the challenges and stresses we all face in everyday life and the strength we need from God and his word to enable us to live for him every day, not just Sundays. This series of sermons will engage with themes from ‘Being authentic 24/7’ through to ‘Being hopeful 24/7’.
In Messy Church on the 2nd Wednesday of each month 3.45 p.m. - 6 p.m. our theme will be ‘Love’. In September we will explore what it is to ‘Love God’, in October what it is to ‘Love your neighbour’ and November what it is to ‘Love your world’. In December our Messy Christmas will help us to experience God’s love for us through the gift of his son Jesus
Our service on Sunday evenings, even though it takes a variety of forms, is the informal one. On the 1st Sunday of each month we have Informal Communion; on the 2nd, and 4th Sundays we have L8 - a creative worship space where people try out their skills; on the 3rd Sunday each month we have our prayer event ONE - one church, one hour one reason - to pray.
